How to make a reservation:

Cost: 

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your stay, which goes toward your first night. Each additional night is $250 each. Questions can be directed to retreat@seasidefamily.org.

About the building:

Our retreat center building includes 3 bunk rooms with bunk beds that can sleep 20-24 people in each room.  There are two male and two female bathrooms.  Each bathroom includes multiple stalls, showers, and sinks (handicap accessible).   We have a complete kitchen with normal pots and pans, utensils, two refrigerators, two stoves with ovens, two microwaves, and shelving that contains a variety of items available for use.  In addition, there are two meeting rooms.  One is large and the other is a bit smaller.  

What you will need to bring: 

Bedding:  Twin size bedding and pillows.  Depending on your group size, some groups also bring air mattresses. 

Miscellaneous

  • As a group- toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, trash bags, other paper and plastic goods appropriate for your stay.  We will have some of those items initially stocked but ask that groups also bring their own. 
  • Individuals- Towels, personal toiletries, appropriate clothing for your stay (swim suit). 

Food: 

  • Eating In-
    • Bring what you want to cook.  Seven Seas grocery store is one mile west and Dollar General is about 4 miles east.  Walmart, Kroger, and Randall’s are about 10 miles back into Galveston. 
  • Eating Out-
    • Way West Grill is located next to Valero in the shopping center. 
    • Nate’s Restaurant is next to Seven Seas
    • Mario’s Pizza is located in Pirates Beach about 5 miles east. (Delivery or Pick up only) 
    • All other restaurants are in Galveston around 10-15 miles back into Galveston.
  • Gas-
    • JB’s and Valero Corner Store are 1-2 blocks away. 

Cleaning Up: We kindly request that you clean up and make sure the building is ready for the next guests to arrive.  Although our volunteers do their best to ensure the building is cleaned between each group, your help with this is greatly appreciated.  A cleaning checklist will be provided and is also listed below.  

General:

  • Vacuum all areas in retreat center 
  • Return all tables and chairs to original places
  • Clean bunks and wipe down with Clorox wipes
  • Pick up all trash
  • Place liners in each empty trash can
  • Place trash in cans by the street near the end of the handicap ramp

Bathrooms:

  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Clean shower stalls
  • Wipe down showers, sinks and counters with Clorox wipes
  • Clean mirrors
  • Clean toilets
  • Restock toilet paper

Kitchen:

  • Wash, dry and return any dishes, silverware, or pots used
  • Wipe down sinks, countertops, tabletops, and refrigerator with Clorox wipes
  • Clean stovetop and oven
  • Empty all of the things you brought from the refrigerator
  • Sweep and mop
